Over on one of the poker sites I visit, there’s a discussion topic about how much of a bankroll you need to play in $1/2 NL Hold’em games.
Some people are saying you need ten max buy ins, which in most casinos is $200 — some might go to $300 on the $1/2NL game. I personally say that if you’re playing “ABC Poker” (aka: “Rock”), then you’d be fine with $1000-1500 to play in that level.
I know that when I went to Tunica last August, I took around $1000 total with me, and ended up walking away with a decent profit after everything was said and done. Granted, the first few nights I was in town it looked bleak, but I had a good run my third night there and ended up taking home a tidy profit.
Your bankroll size doesn’t always depend on the level of game you want to play in, it also depends on the level of your play.
